Description

The NAGCO N10-103-40 Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Detector Tubes provide direct-reading measurement of high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide expressed as percent by volume. The standard measurement range is 0.1–2% H2S using one 100 mL pump stroke with a sample time of approximately 2 minutes.

For applications requiring measurements outside the standard range, the N10-103-40 can also measure 0.05–1% H2S using two pump strokes or 0.2–4% H2S using a half pump stroke with the appropriate correction factor.

Key Features

  • Designed for high-concentration hydrogen sulfide (H2S) measurement
  • Readings expressed in percent (%) H2S

Cross-Sensitivity & Interferences

NAGCO documents cross-sensitivity testing with carbon monoxide, methane, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, methyl mercaptan, diethyl sulfide, isobutylene, toluene and hexane. At the specified test concentrations, methyl mercaptan produced an apparent response while the other listed compounds produced no apparent reading. NAGCO identifies high concentrations of ammonia and nitrogen dioxide in mixtures as possible interferences and reports no response to carbon disulfide (CS2). Refer to the NAGCO datasheet for complete cross-sensitivity information and test conditions.

Pump Information

NAGCO recommends using NAGCO detector tubes with NAGCO sampling pumps. CPS Calibrations can assist customers transitioning from another detector tube system with selecting the appropriate NAGCO tube and sampling equipment for their application.

Important: This detector tube measures hydrogen sulfide in percent (%) rather than ppm. Detector tube readings may be affected by temperature, interfering compounds and application conditions. Always apply the appropriate correction factors and follow the NAGCO datasheet and pump operating instructions for the specific measurement being performed.
