Description

The NAGCO N10-120-20 Water Vapor (Pipeline) H2O Detector Tubes are designed for direct-reading measurement of water vapor in pipeline and natural gas applications. The standard measurement range is 6–40 lbs/MMCF H2O using one pump stroke and a 100 mL sample volume.

For applications requiring measurements outside the standard range, the N10-120-20 can also measure 3–20 lbs/MMCF using two pump strokes or 12–80 lbs/MMCF using a half pump stroke with the appropriate correction factor.

Cross-Sensitivity & Interferences

NAGCO documents cross-sensitivity testing with methane, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, hydrogen chloride, methanol, gasoline, heptane, ethylene glycol, triethylene glycol and toluene. Under the specified test conditions, ammonia produced a significant apparent reading. Methanol can also produce a light-green stain at elevated concentrations. NAGCO identifies amines and alcohols as other possible interferences. Refer to the NAGCO datasheet for complete concentrations, apparent readings and interpretation instructions.

Pump Information

NAGCO recommends using NAGCO detector tubes with NAGCO sampling pumps. CPS Calibrations can assist customers transitioning from another detector tube system with selecting the appropriate NAGCO tube and sampling equipment for their application.

Important: Temperature affects the indicated reading and the appropriate temperature correction factor should be applied. When methanol is present, follow NAGCO's instructions for distinguishing the dark-green water vapor stain from the light-green methanol stain.
