Description
The RKI SH-8641 is a genuine RKI replacement sensor for ppm-level Methane (CH4) detection in the RKI Gas Tracer portable gas monitor.
The SH-8641 provides a measurement range of 0–5,000 ppm Methane and is used by the Gas Tracer for ppm combustible-gas measurements in Leak Check Mode.
RKI describes the SH-8641 as a combination catalytic/MOS sensor. The sensor's output is processed by the Gas Tracer and converted into a combustible-gas concentration displayed on the instrument.
Compatibility is specific: RKI's 2026 documentation identifies the SH-8641 as the PPM Methane sensor for the Gas Tracer only. It should not be confused with the Gas Tracer's NC-6264A %LEL sensor or TE-7561 %Volume sensor.

Important: Although some RKI parts listings display the SH-8641 alongside GX-2012 replacement parts, RKI's 2026 sensor compatibility table specifically identifies the SH-8641 as "PPM Methane (Gas Tracer only)." This product should therefore be ordered for the Gas Tracer only.
