OTIS OI-6000-XP Explosion-Proof Single-Gas Detector Head

The OTIS OI-6000-XP is an explosion-proof fixed gas detector head for classified hazardous locations — the sensor-side building block of an OTIS wired gas detection system. It accepts electrochemical, infrared, catalytic-bead, or PID sensor elements covering 23 gas and range combinations, and reports readings as 4-20 mA with a fault terminal plus RS-485 Modbus.

Choose the gas and range for the hazard you are monitoring, add an optional GEN II WireFree radio for wireless reporting back to the controller, and add two dry-contact relays for standalone local alarming. Note that the radio option provides wireless communication, but the OI-6000-XP still requires 12–35 VDC wired power — for a fully wire-free battery-powered head, see the OI-6900-XP. The 102x64 sunlight-readable graphical display and three magnetic non-intrusive switches allow field calibration without opening the enclosure — a real advantage in a Division 1 area. Certified Class I Division 1 Groups B, C, D with ATEX/IECEx ratings, it is built for refineries, chemical plants, and anywhere ignitable atmospheres are part of the job. Compatible with the OI-501-5 remote sensor mounting kit for hard-to-reach sampling points.
